Tekbond Bitumen Flashing Tape

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

1. This flashing tape is self-adhesive bitumen tape laminated with aluminum foil.

2. This tape has high adhesion strength to almost all construction bases, extremely resistant to atmospheric influences, UV rays and aging.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

1. Suitable for repairs of roofs and sealing of roofing windows, chimneys, bitumen membranes, streets, gutters, openings for antennas and many others.

2. The product is used for sealing of ledges, chimneys, gutters, wall corners, connections between walls and metal structures, and others.

3. The adhesive property of the tape makes it perfect for insulation and protection of all types of surfaces – plastic, metal, wood, ceramic, glass, concrete, stone, masonry, and others.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

APPLICATION TEMPERATURE: +5℃to+45℃

1. Surface must be clean, dry and free from grease and old glue.

2. Gradually remove the protective release film from the lower part. Then apply the sealing tape directly on the surface

3. The sealing tape should be pressed to the working area and smoothen by the use of a damp piece of clothing or by a small roller. In such case the adhesion is tight and the bubbles are removed (if any were formed after the application of the tape on the surface).

4. When working in low temperatures, the sealing tape is heated up to normal temperature in order to ameliorate the adhesion and facilitate the application. Putting excessive pressure on the product while applying it in high temperatures may cause leakage of the bitumen that surpasses the lines of the aluminum film

RESTRICTIONS

1. The application of hydro insulation bitumen membranes should be performed at dry weather and temperature of the surface and the environment over +5°C.

2. The sealing tape cannot be applied using adhesive!

3. Do not use sharp or cutting objects to put pressure on the sealing tape!

4. Recommended to prime the base before applying the sealing tape on porous surfaces.

STORAGE AND SHELF LIFE : 12 months in unopened packages in a cool and dry storage place at temperatures between +5 oC and 27 oC, humidity between 30% and 70%.
