Tiger Brand Aluminum AP-203

Solvent Based Alkyd Aluminum Paint

DESCRIPTION:

Tiger Brand Aluminum AP-203 is a single component based alkyd finish for both exterior and interior use.

TYPICAL USES:

Tiger Brand Aluminum 203 is a silver-coloured topcoat for use on steel and wood substrates.

SUBSTRATES/SURFACES:

Suitably for use direct on steel or primed steel.

ADVANTAGES:

 Easy to apply with good hiding power.

 Excellent color retention for both exterior and interior.

TECHNICAL DATA @ 250C:

Volume Solids: 32.0%

Viscosity 60.5 KU (+/-) 2.0

Specific Gravity 1.00 (+/-) 0.15

Dry to touch: 1 hour

Hard Dry 4 hours

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

Surface Preparation

Tiger Brand Aluminum AP-203 could be applied directly to freshly blasted steel. *Could also be used on well prepared steel with existing or aged two-component coatings. The temperature of the substrate should be at least 3oCelcius above the dew point.

Application

Can be applied by either airless or conventional spray. Tiger Brand Aluminium AP-203 can be applied by roller or brush, however, multiple coats may be needed to achieve the recommended film thickness.

Spreading Information

Recommended Wet film thickness: 110 microns

Dry film thickness: 40 microns

Spreading rate: 9 m2/litre (calculated) Aluminum Paint AP-203

Thinning

If thinning is required please use Thinner 237 up to 10% part by weight.

Cleaning

All equipment should be thoroughly cleaned with Thinner 237 after use.

PACKAGING AND STORAGE:

The product comes in both 1, 3.5, 5 and 20 litres packing. Must be stored in cool well ventilated area away from direct sunlight.

HEALTH AND SAFETY:

Do not inhale spray mist. Remove all contaminated clothing and wash skin with suitable proprietary cleaners or soap and water. In case of contact with eyes, flush immediately with water for at least 15 minutes. If persistent discomfort or irritation occurs after application please seek medical advice.
