Laboratory Sealing Film Parafilm® M 38m roll 10cm wide used to cover laboratory containers to prevent contamination evaporation or spillage.

Parafilm® M is a semi-transparent, flexible, thermoplastic film with two-way stretch. This versatile, self-clinging film will stretch 200% and has an elongation at tear of 300%. The melting point is 60°C while the flash point is 301°C. Parafilm® M can be used over a temperature range of -45°C to +50°C. Non-toxic and free from plasticizers, Parafilm® M is primarily composed of polyolefins and paraffin waxes offering good resistance against acids, alkalis and some organic solvents but is not recommended with acetone, diethyl ether or tetrachloride. Parafilm® M is resistant up to 48 hours against many polar substances, e.g. saline solutions, inorganic acids and alkaline solutions. After this period embrittlement may occur. It offers excellent adherence to irregular shapes and surfaces to provide a secure seal on glass or plastic vessels. Parafilm® M is moisture resistant and an ideal choice for covering beakers, flasks or test tubes to prevent contamination, evaporation or spillage of samples and reagents. Parafilm® M can be stored for at least 3 years without loss of quality under storage conditions between 7°C and 32°C and a relative humidity of 50%. Parafilm® M complies with the general requirements of the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) for use under 5 °C, as well as satisfying GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice).
