Excellent adhesive property

The tape is highly adhesive and has excellent permanent bonding power on a wide variety of surfaces, e.g. metal, plastic, wood, stone etc.

Good resistance to UV, weather and water

Can also be used outdoors and withstands rain and any other weather conditions (not suitable for use under water).

Resistant to ageing and high temperatures

• When used correctly, adhesion and perfect sealing can last for several years
• Also suitable for applications that are subject to high temperatures, e.g. sealing on bodywork

The sealing tape forms a water-tight seal and prevents moisture from penetrating the bodywork.

Application area

Universal use for sealing overlaps and screw connections in the vehicle sector, container and caravan construction, e.g.: Between mudguards and bodywork, on brake lights and tail lights, on trims and sunroofs. Can also be used for general sealing to protect against dust, moisture and vibration in electrical work, mechanical engineering and construction as well as in air conditioning and ventilation, e.g.: between screwed parts, seam areas, joints, all kinds of housings and pipe penetrations.

Instructions

The surfaces to be sealed must be dry, capable of bearing load and free from grease and dust. The application temperature should not be below +5°C. Absorbent and porous surfaces must be pre-treated with Wurth butyl/bitumen primer (art. no. 0892875). The round bodywork tape must be carefully pressed onto the surface. Pressing the sealing surfaces together results in a perfect seal. Butyl has a "cold flow" tendency (flow characteristic of the tape). Butyl products should therefore always be secured mechanically, e.g. screwing the parts, applying a press-on profile. Using excessive contact pressure on the profile will cause the sealing compound to be "pushed out". Never compress butyl products to the zero point (use the supplied washer as a spacer).
