How to use this 8 way relay with a Raspberry Pi?
** Guide sheet attached.
1. Remove the Yellow Jumper between VCC and JD-VCC pins.
2. Connect an external 5V Power source to JD-VCC & GND:
External 5V power supply --> JD-VCC pin External Ground --> GND pin
*IMPORTANT* Do not use the 5V power supply from the PI as switching relays can cause the PI
to crash and reboot due to sudden spikes in voltage while switching.
3. Connect the PI's GND & 3V3 pins to the Relay's GND & VCC pins respectively:
PI's 3v3 GPIO --> VCC pin PI's GND GPIO --> GND pin
4. Connect PI's GPIO to Relay's IN1 ~ IN8 as needed:
[EXAMPLE] PI's GPIO 12 --> IN1 PI's GPIO 16 --> IN2
Note: You may use any combination of GPIO to Relay IN{X}. This configuration was chosen
because it's easy to draw.
