COM port retention also features in this adapter, allowing users to plug or unplug the single USB cable into different ports, or even after a reboot, and ensures the same settings and values are restored automatically to each specific RS-232 connection.
The 8 port RS-232 hub utilises an FTDI USB-to-serial chipset, which enables easy installation of the hub on different OS's. The chipset tells your computer what's connecting to it in order to load the correct driver. The computer can then use the serial adapter and manage data transactions correctly over the connected cable.
This serial hub is enclosed in a black all-metal chassis, designed to withstand the tough industrial environments. It is rack-mountable and fits into a standard 19-inch server storage rack. In addition, the operating temperature of the hub extends to -40-85 degrees C (-40 to 185F), making its reliable performance in no doubt for the harsh environments.
