PPG SigmaTherm 540 Heat-resistant silicone coating for extreme temperature protection (up to 540 °C)
- Type/Finish: One-component, moisture-curing silicone; slick aluminium finish
- Heat Resistance:
- Up to 540 °C on steel
- Up to 400 °C on power-tool-cleaned rusted steel
- Substrates: Wide range of metal surfaces (engines, external steel, high-heat structures)
- Protection: Excellent resistance to weathering, corrosion, and UV light
- Best Uses: Heavy industrial and construction environments (internal & external)
Application:
- Recommended: Spray gun (smoothest finish)
- Alternatives: Brush or roller (touch-ups)
- Dry to touch: ~45 minutes at 20 °C
- Overcoating interval: 16 hours
- Full cure: 3 days at 20 °C before heat exposure
