The Storz hose coupling has no female or male ends, removing the trouble of matching different ends. It is easily connected or disconnected with a 120° rotation using the proper coupling spanner. It is used as the national standard of many different countries such as Germany, China, Australia, etc. for hose fittings . In Germany, the standard is known as DIN while in China, the standard is known as GB. While both standards look similar, the 1.5” and 2.5” versions have different measurements.
